This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs and prioritizing tasks to minimize building down time and keeping leadership informed of items needing addressed between departments within building equipment and systems owned or leased.

This position is also responsible for transporting materials: such as mail, deposits, office supplies, equipment etc. to locations within, or for Promise Healthcare system.

The person in this position exhibits a positive and friendly attitude towards the team and Community. This is a support role, which may require the need to work after hours or flexible hours during events or support other departments when needed.

This role is to "support" departments and ensure buildings are well maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • MUST have an active driver's license, current auto insurance and be insurable by agency underwriter.
  • Must be eligible to be "bonded" by underwriters.
  • When assigned or when need arises, step in to support inspections with representatives of public agencies. Keeps organized records and helps stay current with changes in regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Collaborates with all contractors and subcontractors who are engaged in new construction and remodels with Promise Healthcare.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment and collaborates with department leadership.
  • Performs preventative Maintenance and handles basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Coordinates with landlords or performs maintains of building interiors and exteriors, vehicle fleets, landscaping, and leased spaces.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly assignments by planning, and following it through to completion.
  • Recommends and supports; procurements, maintains, and participates in training with emergency management assets and equipment. Supports drills and exercises including related meetings and documentation.
  • Promotes a culture of open mindedness and safety across the organization.
  • Support policy and procedure related to patient and staff safety. Ensures SDS within Facilities is current and up to date.
  • Proposes enhancements or modifications to processes, based on lessons learned, identification of best practices, regulatory or technical changes.
  • Assists with the emergency communications platforms.
  • Keep supervisor updated on all assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Moderate physical exertion includes frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying moderately heavy loads (up to 50-100 lbs.).
  • Potential for prolonged periods exposed to the elements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree preferred, but not required. Must have five to eight years of experience in a similar position.
  • Preferred (2) years' experience in healthcare setting, preferably FQHC.
  • Preferred (3) years' experience in preventative maintenance type work.
  • Experience and/or some working knowledge of refrigeration, fire alarm and security systems, framing, plumbing and HVAC systems, and other diverse types of clinical equipment.
  • Basic working knowledge of OSHA.
  • Construction experience/understanding and general knowledge of trades required.
  • Ability to learn how to evaluate plans, invoices, proposals, technical drawings, etc.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous dental experience desired, but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Bilingual (Spanish) language preferred.
